First Grade Finale Fun

The end of the year party in Logan's class was a fun kick off to summer. After a pizza party, they had some recess time, where I found Lo and his best pal Jamie hanging out in the dirt, doing what they do...playing some imaginary game, kitty itty bitty sity or what ever the game of the week might be.

Then it was time for the games to begin...a little "school, school, SUMMER!" ala duck duck goose

Last but not least, a water balloon toss. I can't think of a better kick off to summer activity!

And to top off all this fun and excitment....the world's biggest otter pops!

(notice the moisture on the lens...it's because one of those darlings got ME with a water balloon!)

Back in the classroom, there were more summertime surprises!

The kids were very excited to give Mrs. Carlson her retirement gift, a personalized garden border for her to use now that she will have more time to smell the roses

Not a bad way to finish up First Grade!

Storytime Special

As a fundraiser for Logan's school, the local bookstore held a special storytime. Teachers read favorite books and the store donated a percentage of their sales. Logan insisted we be there at the start, because Mrs. G, everyone's favorite kindergarten teacher, was kicking off the day.

Caden took advantage of this bookstore time to get some shopping done.

We finished our outing at the Train Toy store...(yes, this is the same day...lunch was just very messy, so there was a wardrobe change)

He actually kissed "Big Thomas"...sharing a little train love.

Beachsicles

We met up with the Hoffy Girls for dinner the other evening at TP beach and it was FREEZING...can't you tell by my hoodie and towel attire? It didn't slow down the kids though...they played in the waves and dug in the sand the same, just for a much shorter amount of time, because I couldn't handle it any longer!

Logan caught a sand crab, appropriately named Sandy

It was an sad farewell, sending him back to the sea. Lesson learned, stay inland for dinner in June :)

Highlights from 3 days of weekend fun

Memorial Day Weekend we had a lot of fun in the sun and even a little after dark. Pioneer Park, our favorite watering hole! A little backyard crafting...

Pancake Breakfast at the Winery, good eats and lots to do...great combination!

Caden and Grandma got up close and personal with the drummer, he even let Caden play along.

Shawn and I headed down town for Date Night, discovered an AWESOME restaurant, wondered around and people watched and simply enjoyed having the chance to focus on each other.

Do you notice how it looks like Mardi Gras in the streets...guess again, its the UFC fight being shown at this bar...of course we had to watch the Big Match-up.

Logan scooped me on this story...Hiking up Torrey Pines. We had dinner on the beach, even with the gale force winds...mmmmm taco shop

Then we headed up the hill

So incredibly gorgeous up there.

Tiger Cub, No More

Logan completed all his requirements as a Tiger Cub and has moved up to Wolf Rank...let the fun continue...(there is only a little bit of sarcasm in my voice)
