Logan's Summer in Review

Also known as "I know what you did this summer"
To kick off summer, on the last day of school, Logan's school had a field day some of his school friends field day activitiesHis principal was duct taped to the wall. Caden was boredBackyard Pool Time This picture I need to explain... Logan spent a week in a summer enrichment class all about rocks and fossils. On his last day he wanted to take a picture of his teacher but all I had was my cell phone, so here is the pic... a precious memory Hours and hours of this summer were spent playing legos. Daddy dug up his old legos and added them to Logan's already enormous collection. Soon we may need to build an addition to the house to hold all the legos but the good news is that we could build the room out of legos. This summer is also memorable for Lego Indiana Jones, the video game. Mission accomplished! We also dedicated time most days to practice reading , writing and math. After telling me continuously that my addition problems were too easy, I found a subtraction workbook that he has almost completed.
A week of summer was spent in Gymnastics Camp... non-stop running, jumping, swinging
Lots of time in the pool, both at Nannie and Papa's and at ours.

Chalk drawings in the backyard (the glasses make the drawings look 3-D)

We also spent several afternoons a week at the library this summer, usually looking for the next Magic Tree House book but also because they put on great events like Creepy Crawling Animals, Mad Science and Magic Shows. That's a rosy boa.

Playing spy is Logan's favorite game. Here he is all decked out in his spy gear. (or getting ready for an audition of the Village People - the early years)This summer we also made several trips to the beach, sometimes 3 a week.

Swim lessons were on our agenda this summer too. Logan really progressed, he even jumped off the high dive a couple times. We went to a water park for the first time this summer. The lazy river was the favorite place to hang out.

Logan continued with Karate this summer too. He moved up from a Tiny Tiger to a Little Ninja and already earned 2 stripes towards his yellow belt.

And as a special treat, Logan went on a mini vacation with Grandma and Grandpa to Legoland. He spent 2 nights at the hotel and hours and hours with the Legos.

It's been a busy summer! Good thing school starts soon so we can rest :)
