Improptu Beach Trip

Today we started off to the Del Mar Fair...two and a half hours later, when the fairgrounds were still out of sight, we decided to ditch those plans and hit the beach. Of course, we weren't dressed for the beach but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves.

Squirt Gun Madness

So yesterday morning was a bit of a challenge...Caden had a diaper blowout that I didn't notice right away...I'll spare you the stinky messy details but the end results involved a change of clothes for me, a bath for Caden and the Bissell carpet cleaner. Anyway, I needed to keep Caden out of the danger zone for a while to clean up the mess, so I plopped him on the other side of the baby barrier and kept one eye on him while I cleaned up. I noticed he was quiet for a little too long only to discover he had made it into the diaper bag and retrieved crackers, totally closed up in a baggie. So he opened the bag and pulled out the crackers, munching away, proud as can be. This boy will never starve!

Go Climb a Rock!

Logan really loves to rock climb. Our good friend Karen introduced him to the sport, she's taken him a couple times now, but Saturday was a treat...Since Karen is moving to Santa Barbara next week, she took Logan and ME to the rock gym so I could learn how to belay.

I discovered that it isn't that tough! And I also discovered that Logan can really scramble up the side of a cliff. I was very impressed!

We're sure going to miss Karen! But we know we'll still have the chance to see her when she comes back down to visit plus it gives us an excuse to check out SB. AND she still has to teach Logan & Caden how to surf!!!!!

First Day of Summer Vacation...we've been busy...sort of

Today we prepped for Summer Vay-K... We made Logan's summer playlist. It includes a few surprises Track 1 Kung fu fighting (not a surprise AT ALL) 2 We will rock you (big lightbulb today when he discovered that "we are the champions" is the same song) 3 Boom Boom Pow (the clean version) 4 Who let the dogs out 5 Celebrate 6 YMCA 7 Barbara Ann 8 California Girls 9 Surfin USA 10 Hoedown Throwdown (yes, Shawn will probably disown him) 11 Best of Both Worlds (again, disowned) 12 SOS by Jonas Brothers (he beat me down) 13 Unwritten (I really like Natasha) 14 Pocketful of Sunshine 15 Hey there Delilah 16 Yellow Submarine (he get a little credit back with Dad) 17 Twist and Shout 18 Ob-La-Di 19 The lion sleep tonight 20 Sloop John B 21 Time of your life 22 Star Spangled Banner 23 Proud to be an American 24 God Bless America (I have NO IDEA where this patriotism comes from, but I think its great) *** We also made a "What can I do list?" inspired by his kindergarten teacher. It will live on the fridge for constant reference. (I was trying to keep the list to things he can do on his own)
