Logan's Best Day Ever

Today in class, Logan's teacher prompted them to write about their best day ever...here is what Logan chose to write about.. BTW, his teacher was so proud, she met me at the car and had Logan read it to me. He had already read it to the entire office staff and the principal. After we got in the car, Logan said his day was "all sunshine". (he was pretty proud of himself too)
We stopped at Jack in the Box for a Chocolate Shake with whip cream AND a cherry on the way home to celebrate his excellent writing.

Caden at 9 months

It's hard to believe our little baby is already 9 months old. Here are some of the adorable things he is learning to do (in no particular order).
  • He claps and says "YEAH!" when you sing a song. He especially loves the songs "Everybody Clap" by the Wiggles, "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes", "ABCs" and "Bright Red Apples", a song that Logan's kindergarten class sings to him.
  • He says "U-Oh" when he drops his sippy on the ground. This is an especially fun game with Logan because he will pick it up over and over and over again.
  • His crawl is becoming more formal, starting to get up on all fours, but he is still much faster with the army crawl. When he spots a lego across the family room rug, he can get to it in a blink of an eye.
  • We are yet to find a food he doesn't like, but he does eat most fruits and sweet potatoes with little more enthusiasm.
  • He is very tickelish.
  • While Logan is at karate and the class yells "Ay-ya", Caden often yells "Ay-ya" back.
  • He loves to snack on Bunny Love cereal.
  • He also loves to play catch, but look out, he's got quite an arm.
  • He clicks his tongue like an African Tribesman.
  • He has a smile that melts your heart.
  • Sleep isn't his favorite past time but he is getting better.
  • He is loosing some of his Buddha belly but those thighs and cankles are still meaty.
  • He has 7 teeth and isn't afraid to use them.
  • He's been saying Da Da Da Da since he was about 5 months old, but now I think it's attached to Daddy...no Mama yet :(
  • When his daddy plays his guitar, all is right in Caden's world.

Going on Day 4

It's been raining a lot lately...something we aren't really that use to. Being stuck inside makes me a little crazy, but Logan seems to deal with it very well. He is going on day 4 of "mini-fig 2009". He spends hours each day tinkering with all his Lego people and now it has evolved into making transportation for all of them, planes, cars, boats, space ships, what ever seems appropriate. And of course, there is a story that goes with each...this one is evil, this one is a spy, these guys are searching for treasure...the stories are far more elaborate then this, I really can't do them justice. His biggest challenge though is keeping them out of Caden's reach, Logan is good at building barricades out of couch pillows, the entertainment center door and the exersaucer. I think it finally stopped raining today, we'll see if the convention continues.

Play Create Discover

This was our first trip to the New Children's Museum. There was so much to do! We definitely need to go back on a less crowded day.

Shall we dance?

Sunday at the Children's Museum, the PHS Dance team performed and shared their dancing skills with the kids. It took a while for Logan to warm up to the idea but then he let loose! His dancing partner in the pink is Ally :)
