♥Melting my Heart♥

Just after lunch, Caden told me we needed to get ready to sleep and then he ran off. Now, this has NEVER happened!!! He usually fights the idea of a nap and often skips it and then falls asleep in the car when it is time to pick up Logan. Not today...When I entered Caden's room he had a lot of his stuffed animals gathered on the floor with two pillows nestled in the middle, one for him and one for me. How could I resist such a wonderful invitation?
This is the result of our nap time...I even caught a few zzzzs

Better LUCK next time

Logan turned St. Patrick's Day into a full fledged holiday in our house. I blame/credit his kindergarten teacher because she filled his head with all these stories about catching Leprechauns and getting their gold. You may remember last years trap attempts. This year he was at it again...the box, jar, can collecting started about March 1, designing took place off and on over the next few weeks and then of course there was the actual set up, the night before.
And what's St. Patrick's Day without ye ol' potato trapHere is Caden's attempt...camouflage is the word you are looking for, right?
So what was the result of all these fancy contraptions...let's see...
Those little elves are tricky! Most of the gold bait was nabbed but they left yummy treats!
After a few chocolate coins, we gobbled up some rainbow waffles and trotted off to school
We wrapped up our St. Paddy's Day celebration with Corned Beef and Cabbage a la Grandma. It was a tasty meal but apparently induced great thirst... Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Safari Run and Fun

On Sunday, Shawn ran a half marathon at the "Safari Park" aka Wild Animal Park. He had a great run...improved his time from the Carlsbad run (not having bronchitis may have had something to do with that).
Cherie ran the race too! Way to go guys!!!
The rest of our day was spent exploring the park. We discovered a new bird.
Doesn't he look prehistoric? Logan really liked this bird, here is what he learned...
Since we were at the park so early, many of the animals were out and about, enjoying their breakfast.
The Nile Monitor is always worth a visit.
And of course, some time at the playground

Boys will be Boys

I finally got around to clearing off my cell phone photos. I use my camera phone for 2 reasons. 1) to take photos of things I'd like to buy 2) capturing my kids in their least structured moments. I won't bore you with my enormous photo collection of patio furniture and just give you these adorable boys.

They grow up so fast
