Caden found his "Happy Place"

too bad it didn't open for another 30 minutes... We made it back though and he played and played with the train table...this is about the same age when Logan became obsessed with trains...do I see a train themed birthday party in the near future once again? ☺

Leapin' Leprechauns

Preparation for St. Patrick's Day started about a week after Valentine's day. You may remember last years attempt to catch a little green man. Well the interest and enthusiasm only grew stronger this year. A couple weeks ago, while at the library, Logan asked to find a book about Leprechauns, so he could learn all their interests, in order to build a better trap this year. So we read and read and read some more about Irish folklore.
We did a few crafts, green of course and Logan started work on his traps. Traps, traps and more traps...5 to be accurate This is the preparation of the pit trap, ready to catch him a leprechaun! You also may not notice the potato he used to help lurer his prize. This one is a favorite...an old shoe...because Leprechauns are believed to be the shoemakers for fairies...
Ta-Dah! Those sneaky leprechauns found Logan's traps and they stole all his gold! But they left him some chocolate coins and a stuffed green little man was trapped in the pit.
In celebration of the day, we treated ourselves to a rainbow breakfast. Top o'the mornin' to ya! We concluded our St. Paddy's day with green rice krispie treats, after our dinner of corned beef sandwiches. It was a fantastic St. Patrick's Day and believe it or not, Logan is already talking about next years traps.

M-I-C...K-E-Y...M-O-U-S-E

Caden's first "real" trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. It was such fun to experience Disneyland through Caden's eyes.
Our first stop was Fantasyland. We jumped on the Snow White Ride and luckily, Caden didn't try to climb out of the car (I think that ride is pretty dang scary)
Our next ride was Caden's request, the carousel. He didn't want to ride on a horse, but he loved it none the less. I think Logan still harbors a bit of anxiety with all horses dating back to a pony riding birthday party in 2003. Next stop, Dumbo. Here is Caden holding the magic feather, waiting patiently for our turn.

Logan was a wonderful tour guide and Caden was a super eager journeyer I like to call these pic the ceremonial passing of the torch, the brother to brother love of toon town, thanks to the biggest fan of them all, Shawn.
Who rang that bell? (what movie is that quote from?)
Notice how Caden won't take his eyes off Mickey, not out of fear but joy
To infinity and beyond!
Blast off!
After the Winnie the Pooh ride, we met up with some favorite characters Eyore really liked Logan! Caden was really excited to see Pooh and Tigger I attempted to capture the joy of Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain on my cell phone...it sorta worked?
We couldn't leave with out showing Caden the Magical Flight of Peter Pan (which always has a long line) so to pass the time, Caden and I rode the carousel again, 3 more times actually! He finally sat on a horse the last 2 rounds. He loves to go round and round.
Good Night Disney!
PS I can't forget to mention that this trip started with vomit too (there seems to be a theme here, huh?) We've learned that Logan can not draw in a moving car, especially on the 5 near Camp Pendalton. He has christened this stretch of highway more than once, poor guy. I only bring this up for the purpose of posterity :)

They grow up so fast
